Doing a Boudoir session can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be as scary.
If you know all the details about the sessions prior to, you will feel more empowered and comfortable. I’m here to answer any and ALL questions you may have. My clients always know that no question is too silly or personal. Ask away! If you are worried about it, chances are you aren’t the first one to ask it.
Without further ado, let’s get into the Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do I have to do my own hair and makeup?
A: No, all of my boudoir sessions include professional hair and makeup. You book your session with me and I handle everything else.
Q: What should I wear for my boudoir session?
A: There are so many options when it comes to lingerie. It starts with your preference. After you book, you’ll receive an email with several different lingerie sites to shop for the perfect pieces. You can even just window shop for an idea of styles. BUT if you don’t want to buy any pieces, don’t worry. I have an entire client closet with 70+ pieces that you are welcome to wear.
Q: How long should I plan to be there during my session?
A: You’ll start your day in hair and makeup. That usually takes about an hour and a half. Then, you’ll come to my studio for the session itself which is another hour to hour and a half. I usually suggest you plan to schedule 4 hours from start to finish for the day of your session.
Q: I have no idea what I’m doing in front of the camera, is that a problem?
A: NOT AT ALL! You don’t have to know a damn thing coming into this. I will tell you and show you every step of the way. You’ll be directed from the tips of your toes to the top of your head. I understand have nerve wracking it can be in front of the camera and never expect anyone to know how to pose. Boudoir is especially specific because the slightest chin movement can make all the difference in a photo. All I ask is that you trust me when I tell you “more ARCH!!”
Q: Do I have to get naked?
A: Absolutely not! Boudoir is what we make it and I can make you look sexy in jeans and a shirt. But part of boudoir is to push a little outside of your comfort zone. I always ask what you are planning to wear and what the expectation is. Usually we’ll start more modest and move into the steamier stuff later. Sometimes you may not feel comfortable going nude at first, but once we’re comfortable you may change your mind. I will never push you one way or the other. My job is to make you feel comfortable and take sexy photos for YOU!
Q: Are my photos going to be shared?
A: No, not if you don’t want them to be. 60% of the sessions I shoot are not shared with anyone but the client. I will not share anything unless you give me signed permission to do so. That being said, when I do my Boudie calls (modified model call) I wave the session fee in exchange for a signed model release so those images are shared at my discretion.
Q: How long does it take to see my photos after my session?
A: I get right to work after our session to have your photos ready for you to view as soon as possible. At the end of our session together we’ll schedule your reveal (where you come back to the studio to view all your gorgeous images) for 3-5 days out.
Q: What type of editing do you do on the photos?
A: I don’t do anything too crazy, but I do edit the image to match my style that you see on my site and social media. I will brighten under eyes, smooth out skin a little and remove any temporary bruises or blemishes. We don’t need to remember a random bruise! If you have any extra requests, please let me know as soon as possible.
Q: How long does it take to get my products?
A: I use only high-quality professional printing labs for your products so it can take some time to get your products in once ordered. It takes about 5 weeks from ordering to get them to you. I recommend booking your session 6-8 weeks before any special event if you need products by a certain date.
Q: How do I pay for my products?
A: You can pay with cash, credit card or PayPal credit. Full payment is due at the time of the reveal for any products purchased. I highly recommend to all my clients that they take advantage of a pre-payment plan. After we schedule your session date, you’ll receive a complete pricing list. You have the option to setup a pre-payment plan that works best for your budget leading up to your session. That takes the stress out of paying one lump sum and you’ll be able to focus solely on your GORGEOUS self during your session.
What questions do you have not on this list? I’ll make sure to answer them.

Kylie
