Where to even begin with this couple? They are fun, silly in the best ways, and adventurous. I first met them in person at their engagement session. They were prepared with a bag of supplies and props for their photos; champagne with flutes, a plaque. Their session was at Chico State at their request and it was obvious it held a lot of memories for them.
Jump to the wedding day: I met Myrna at her bridal suite where she was staying and getting ready with her bridesmaids. It was a rental and recently remodeled with amazing lighting and gave the perfect bright and airy feel for getting ready. I get giddy when I have pretty surroundings for photos with gorgeous natural light.
Onto the venue to meet the groom and groomsmen. The wedding was being held at the Creekside Rose Garden. The men were all enjoying a few shots as they got ready.
The bride and groom chose to do a private first look before the ceremony. It was so emotional and intimate. I could feel their anxiety as they waited to lay eyes on each other and then felt it melt away when they saw each other for the first time. It was perfect. I did my best to stay out of the way and just capture their love for one another.
The ceremony was held in the rose garden under a gorgeous pergola. I really enjoyed the location for the ceremony. Even though it holds a good amount of people, the way it is designed it feels more intimate. There are rows of rose bushes to break up the seating nicely.
After the ceremony the wedding party gathered to shotgun beers and start the evening off on the right foot.
The reception was so much fun and at one point a dance circle broke out. Drew was the second shooter with me and when it started we were both mesmerized by the exuberance of the party.
It was such a fun experience, I absolutely love what I do and I love getting to know such amazing people while doing it.
